I am Kacey Crawford and I am a photographer…

…a creator of images, a translator…

… who helps bring stories to life. I believe my camera provides me a window of grace through which I am able to reveal, see and capture moments of transcendence.  I believe taking a photograph elevates the ordinary and everyday to the miraculous and awesome and makes everyday moments reasons to celebrate. I believe a photograph can turn strangers into acquaintances, acquaintances into friends, all the while breathing familiarity, reassurance and connection across miles, oceans and continents.

I believe beauty cannot be taught, it just is. I have the privilege of seeing it, finding it, documenting it and revealing it in a way that allows others to see it, perhaps for the first time.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.  For poise, walk with the knowledge that you will never walk alone. For me, it’s in the smile, smirk, wink, blink, brush of the hair, blush of the cheek subtleties that we too often miss in the course of a day. My camera freezes time and gives me a glimpse into the sacred, the cherished, the love…the all of it all ~

We live in an unjust world and I have a responsibility to use my gifts, tools, voice and love to help illuminate the injustices, bring light to dark places, restore dignity and pride, tell the stories, evoke reaction followed by real action and be a truth telling and revealing voice amidst all the noise.

I am also a hopeless romantic, theater geek, do-it-yourself enthusiast, craft gawker, paper and textile junkie, fair trade coffee connoisseur, lover of colorful things, and a happily married wife to a creative, soulful, gifted, and adventurous husband. Although my base is in Philadelphia, I have photographed portraits and weddings on both coasts and in Europe. And I love what I do, or should I say what I get to do.
